About the Programme

Where academic rigour and genuine care are held together

The PPS primary programme covers all year groups from entry through to completion, delivering the full Nigerian national curriculum with British educational enrichment. Our teachers are subject specialists, our classrooms are equipped with electronic boards, and our class sizes are kept small enough for real relationships to form.

We hold a simple belief: a child who is known, respected, and gently challenged will develop not just academic competence but the confidence and character to use it well throughout their life.

The Nigerian & British Blended Curriculum explained

Our curriculum is not a compromise between two frameworks - it is a deliberate combination of the best of both. Here is how it works in practice.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Nigerian National Curriculum

We teach the full Nigerian national curriculum as mandated - all core subjects, all approved content, and all required assessments. This ensures that every PPS primary graduate meets national standards and can transition to any Nigerian secondary school without disruption.

English Language, Mathematics, Basic Science
Social Studies, Civic Education, Cultural & Creative Arts
Computer Studies, Agricultural Science, Religious Studies
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง British Curriculum Enrichment

The British framework adds inquiry-based learning, critical thinking development, structured writing programmes, and a STEM enrichment layer that extends beyond what the national curriculum alone provides.

Structured phonics and reading progression
Inquiry-based science and STEM activities
Analytical writing and extended thinking tasks
Why It Matters

What a blended curriculum gives your child

A child educated under this approach does not have to choose between being strong in Nigerian academic standards and being globally competitive. They develop both - which is increasingly important in a world where children from Lagos are applying to universities everywhere from Ibadan to London.

Does my child still qualify for Nigerian exams?

+
Yes. The full Nigerian curriculum is delivered. Our British enrichment is additive - it supplements but does not replace national requirements. PPS graduates are fully prepared for JSS entrance exams and secondary school in Nigeria.

How is technology used in classrooms?

+
Every classroom is equipped with an electronic board used in daily lessons. Teachers use it for visual explanations, interactive activities, and student presentations. It is a tool, not a substitute - teacher presence and relationships remain the core of how we teach.

How small are the class sizes?

+
Our class sizes are intentionally small. We can share exact numbers during your school visit - but the principle is that every teacher at PPS should know every child in their class well enough to teach them as an individual, not as a group.

Is PPS near schools in VGC and Abraham Adesanya?

+
We are located in Daffodil Estate on the Chevron Alternative Route. Families from VGC, Chevron Drive, Agungi, Ikate, and Abraham Adesanya are within a short drive and make up a significant part of our parent community.
Small Class Sizes

The most important thing we offer is also the least advertised

In Lagos, many schools talk about small class sizes. At PPS, small class sizes are not a selling point - they are a structural commitment. We limit enrolment deliberately, because we believe that the only way to educate a child well is to actually know them.

Our teachers know the child who needs more time before answering, the one who understood it three explanations ago, and the one who needs to be asked directly. That kind of teaching is only possible in a small group.

Dedicated subject teachers for each core area

Personalised feedback on every piece of assessed work

Individual academic profiles reviewed with parents each term

Open-door policy - parents can speak with teachers directly, any day

What primary parents say about PPS

"My son sat a secondary school entrance examination last year and came first in mathematics. His teacher at PPS had told us two years earlier that he had a natural gift for it - and then actually developed it. That is not luck. That is good teaching in a small class."

"We moved our daughter from a larger school where she was getting lost. Within one term at PPS, her reading was two years ahead of where it had been. Small class sizes are not a luxury - they are how children actually learn. PPS understands this."

"The blended curriculum is real - not a marketing phrase. My daughter came home after her second week explaining a science concept she had discovered through an experiment. She was not just taught it; she found it. That is the British inquiry approach working."
